In honor of Bilbo Baggins' birthday, I stayed home and watched all 11 hours and 15 minutes worth of the extended version of the Trilogy.
Yes, I imagine this does prove what a geek I am. Oopps!
I read The Hobbit when I was about 12 and I loved it. I read the Trilogy soon thereafter, but I must admit I have a VERY hard time getting through The Return of the King.
Kinda like today, when I had a heck of a time sitting through the final battles.
This life we live is a spiritual war, and I keep running from battle, or losing in battle, or not stopping to take time to celebrate the victories.
So today, for the first time, I took time off of work to celebrate the Baggins' birthday. I am glad I did, but I don't think I'll do it again next year. (11 hours and 15 minutes felt like eleventiy years!)
a day well spent.
ReplyDeleteWhat a coincidence! I've just watched The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and am halfway through The Return of the King. Good stuff.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Bilbo and Frodo!
I like a girl who knows how to party!
ReplyDeleteBilly - You got that right!
ReplyDelete3Girl - Great minds think alike!
laura - Thanks! My head was mush when it was over, and I guess that proves it was a good party!
Ha! Where's my present? Don't hobbits give presents to everyone else on their birthday?
ReplyDeleteGood for you for taking a day for yourself.
Hey... it seems to me that I recall you and Little David used to write in elf runes. Yep, you're a geek, but I am too.
Ananda - ahhhh, I , um, forgot about that......uh, here's a a a, well, I don't have a thing for you....sorry.
ReplyDeleteHere's to geek-dom!
