In 1973 I was 18 and beautiful (all 18 year olds are beautiful).
In 1973, the ATM machine was patented, Spiro T. Agnew resigned as the Vice President of the United States and Duane Lee Chapman II (Dog's son) was born.
We have seen Obama's luster fade, a volcano in Iceland and J.D. Salinger die.
Thirty seven years is a long time to be in a relationship.
Fuck it, Dude. Let's go bowling!
Thirty-seven years is a long time to be in a relationship...next year it will be thirty-eight years, even longer. Keep in mind that this particular relationship is changed, but will never end. Now, there are miles to go before you sleep and more relationships to discover, you Beauty.
ReplyDeleteAh, true that! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSooooooo.....Does this mean you are celebrating an anniversary, or calling it quits? I'm not much of an emo-blogger, so I'm a bit confused as how to interpret.
ReplyDeleteHey Ted! How you doin'? Better than me, I hopes.
ReplyDelete37 years to the day of our first date my husband announced he was calling it quits, in favor of his first (and maybe only) love.
So I guess I am going through a phase of being an emo-blogger (never heard of that - but it makes sense), trying to work through this portion of my life, such as it is.
Thanks for asking! Really!
who knows what evil lurks in the heart of men, you and the shadow.
ReplyDeleteyou seem to be handling it well.
billy- me and the shadow? is that good or bad? and thank you, i'm doing what i'm doing,
ReplyDeleteI've got about 10 years less time invested in my relationship and that feels like forever (not in a bad way) just seems permanent. For that to change ten years down the road, I can imagine it must be a little rough. But the adjustment or transition is the hard part. Anyway, like Billy said, you seem to be doing fine.
ReplyDeletethanks, texla - and like laura said, the relationship is just changed, not over. and i still got a whole lotta living left to do; it's just the transition i am not looking forward to, although i am in the middle of it....
