Wandering Wednesday

Today is Wednesday. I had an IEP scheduled for 7:30 in the a.m. So I told myself when I went to bed last night that I would get up at 5 in the a.m. I never use an alarm clock - i just tell myself before I go to bed what time to wake up. So I woke up at 6 am instead. And rushed off to school, printed, copied, and put paper in folders, waited and then ran a meeting.

I missed my yard duty. Oh heartbreak of heartbreaks.

Then I pushed into kindergarten, and third grade.

I then organized and distributed paperwork.

Chewed out a few students.

And so goes a slice of my work day.

That's wandering, isn't it?

Still have an open door policy under the portable.

Welcome skunks and all little wildlife critters.

It's skunky smelling. Pretty much all day long. I take my camera to work everyday, in hopes that I will catch view of a skunk to share. Haven't seen one in my 3+ years - but I have certainly smelled more that my fair share - and had to joy of hearing their mating screech!

I wonder what variety of stripes our skunks have. Perhaps someday I will have the photos to share.

Sure, and if only blogs had smell-o-vision - 'cuz I'll probably get sprayed in the process.

Happy day, my friends!

  1. Skunks are pretty tolerant if you don't startle them. They will slap their front paws on the ground to frighten you away before spraying you.
They love fish flavored cat food but threw the gormet flavor all over when we switched. I made a special trip to get fish flavor. No one wants a pissed skunk.

  2. Sounds like you have fun days at work. Chewing out students, paperwork, open doors, it's all fun.

I would prefer to stay as far away as possible from any skunk. I'm not a fan of them or their smell.

  3. I used to have an internal alarm clock too! It sort of went on the fritz a couple years ago and now I have to count on my cell phone alarm.

I will look forward to seeing those elusive skunks at last :-) And I bet you look forward to not sharing in the joy of their particular aroma...

  4. Ananda - I used to feed the skunks, coincidentally, when we lived in Hollywood. We fed the cats on the front porch and the skunks and possums would help themselves to the food, too. I don't remember what kind of food it was.

Alien - Aw come on - skunks are cute and they are so smelly. Yum yum.

laurua - cell phone alarms are certainly better than the old school buzzer types - i still have an adverse reaction whenever I hear one. I will certainly share the skunks when I capture their likenesses in digits.

  5. Chewing out students!!? I hope you keep them on their toes by sometimes going old school and using your belt or whip :)

  6. Sebastien - I prefer rulers.

I do not now, nor have I ever, owned a whip.

Hey - long time no see - glad to see you!
